Recital Season at BCC Music Houston: A Touch of Cinderella Magic

At BCC Music Houston, recital season is always a special time filled with music, growth, and a touch of theatrical magic. While we focus on music education rather than musical theater, our tradition of ending each recital with a reenactment of a famous musical has become a cherished part of our performances.

This May, we are bringing the beloved story of Cinderella to life! Our students will take the stage not only as talented musicians but also as storytellers, embodying characters that suit their unique personalities and vocal abilities.

A Thoughtful Casting Process

One of the things that makes our recitals so special is how we select the right roles for our students. We don’t just assign parts at random; instead, we carefully consider each student's vocal range, personality, and musical strengths. We want to challenge them—helping them grow musically—while ensuring they feel confident and comfortable in their performance.

For our voice students, this is an exciting opportunity to step into a character and bring a song to life in a way that showcases their abilities. Whether it’s Cinderella’s grace, the Fairy Godmother’s charm, or the comedic antics of the stepsisters, every role is chosen with care to make the experience both fun and musically enriching.
